Sister Rebecca Doty: The Lord Reconnected us with a Former Investigator!

THIS WEEK IN THE FORT WORTH TEXAS MISSION

We had planned to go to dinner with a family in the ward on Saturday night, but at 4:30 she called and told us that her son was throwing up and had to cancel. She offered to give us some dinner to eat at home but we were already in town and she lives 8 miles out of town so we said, "no". We went to this cute little sandwich place and we decided to eat it at the park. We finished eating and were talking to the district leader on the phone when we saw our former investigator Buck!!! He drove up on his motorcycle, I don't know how I recognized him, it was a miracle! We hung up with the Elders and got our stuff and started walking over to where he was. We got over there and he was so shocked to see us. He thought we would have been transferred by now. He told us he had been praying for guidance and had been feeling really depressed. He also said that since he dropped us his life had gone so down hill. It was sad but in reality it was kinda a good thing. He told us he had been thinking about moving to New Mexico. We talked to him for about 30 minutes and then I had the impression that he needed a priesthood blessing. We went over to the Lambs house (they are some of my favorite people) and we talked some more and we set a return appointment and he said he would come to church next week. When Brother Lamb gave him a blessing I was thinking it wasn't what I was hoping for but when it was over I opened my eyes and BAM! the Spirit was so strong. I was seriously heavy, it was amazing! Buck didn't even know what to say. We were all quiet for about a minute and Buck kept saying he just felt so good. It was such an amazing experience! I am so excited for him! We are meeting with him again this week. This is the second time he has been praying for guidance and we showed up, he doesn't think it's coincidence, thank goodness!
