Elder Shaunton Stubbs: The Faith to Endure and Rise Above Trials

Today in the New York, Rochester Mission

I truly have seen so many miracles as we try daily to be obedient, work with people, and ultimately try to recognize the blessings, my testimony is strengthened so much! I love the work!

We first met Debbie in March. We had no idea how many trials she would face through July, when her and her wonderful energetic son were baptized. The ward members have done wonderfully in gathering around her and supporting her through almost losing her home and recently losing close friends and family. She has had her faith tested so much. However, it is miraculous that someone so kind-hearted, loving, and faithful can be found in her hard situation and neighborhood. She has turned again and again to church members for help, the scriptures for inspiration, and to prayer for support through it all. The blessings of the gospel have helped her through everything, and is a testimony to me that no matter what, the principles of the gospel can change our lives!

Through all of that, Debbie has shared her feelings of love, support, peace and joy with her husband. We all still await his future interest and desire to learn more. However, through Debbie's own missionary work, her friend/landlord Katie has also had the wonderful opportunity of gaining the desire to come to Christ. Katie is learning and gaining a testimony of prayer and of the Book of Mormon. She desires a new start, a new life found through baptism! Miracles are always happening, we need to recognize them!

Today is Katie's Baptism Day! Congratulations Katie on taking this AMAZING step towards Christ.
